Uniform
Our Academy uniform is listed below. Most items can be bought from major high street shops. Items with the Academy logo can be purchased from Initial Images if desired. Pre-loved uniform can be purchased from the Community School Clothing Scheme which has premises both in Sunderland and South Shields. All clothing must be clearly marked with the child’s name. The Academy will not take any responsibility for any garment that is not clearly marked.
The uniform comprises the following: -
- Grey/Black skirt, pinafore, trousers or shorts – not leggings
- Purple sweatshirt / cardigan or fleece
- White blouse or shirt
- White or grey socks or tights
- Purple or mauve and white checked dresses in summer time
- Black indoor shoes / plimsolls
- Black outdoor shoes. Children are expected to wear sensible shoes at all times.
KS1 and KS2 children dress is as follows for P.E.
- White T-Shirt (no cropped tops)
- Grey/Black/Navy Shorts or leggings (not Bermuda and no hotpants)
- Trainers
- Grey/Black Tracksuit/purple school hoodie

Jewellery may not be worn by children in the Academy at any time especially necklaces, bracelets, rings or ear-rings. This is for their own safety and the safety of others. The greatest problem is with newly pierced ears. Would parents considering having their child’s ears pierced please do so at the start of a long holiday to avoid any difficulties? Please note that earrings MUST NOT be worn for P.E. and long hair must be tied back.
School Bag
- Children need an envelope style book bag. Please do not send large bags to school due to limited space available.
